Hello Sunshine

June 7, 2024

Good afternoon to our QEB families,

Library books are due the week of June 10 which is next week! Please ensure library books are returned to the school prior to the end of the school year. If books are lost or badly damaged, please send money or a gently used book to replace the book.

Save the date - June 13, 2024! A parent evening of Social Media and Online Safety with Paul Davis. Paul brings 33+ years of IT knowledge and expertise to his speaking engagements. He has presented to over 860,000 students in person and 105,000 virtually from Grades 4-12. Relating to kids as a father of two girls, and to parents as an IT/Cyber professional - all presentations are targeted so that each audience leaves with a wealth of knowledge and empowerment at their respective age level. We look forward to you joining us!

Our Grade 8 Graduation rehearsal is going to be at QEB on Friday, June 14, 2024. All graduating students are encouraged to be there!

Our QEB Talent Show is coming soon! On Friday, June 14, 2024 participating QEB talents will be performing for our students and staff. The talent show has been put together by our JEDI Club. The QEB JEDI Club has been fundraising all year to open a Student Emergency Fund. The goal of the Student Emergency Fund is to provide students and families with financial assistance or support if needed. The Fund can be put towards field trips, winter clothing, groceries, eyeglasses or other necessary supplies. Tickets will not be sold and all students will be able to attend,  but we are asking for monetary donations given that day in support of this valuable fund. Thanks for your support!

Belleville Public Library Summer Offerings: All programs are free. Children can also participate in our summer reading challenge. Each week children can report their reading at the library to be entered into weekly and end-of-summer prizes. Children will also be placed on a team. By reporting their reading, they will also help their team progress on a track in the children’s area. We also have a teen summer reading challenge and several teen programs on our summer calendar. For more information and to register starting June 17, visit bellevillelibrary.ca/summer2024.

Please keep an eye on the school and classroom communication as we head into the final weeks of the school year. There are many trips and sporting events coming up that require forms to be completed or a payment is required. If you are interested in joining a school trip, a current Vulnerable Sector is required to participate.  You may request a letter from the school to take to the police station to apply.
