Happy First Week of School

September 8, 2023

Good afternoon to our QEB families,

Despite the heat, we have had an amazing start to our school year! Thank you so much for your part in making the start to our 2023-2024 school year a successful one for all our returning and new students. We appreciate the time that you invested in reading through the provided information on our QEB routines and guidelines (located on our QEB Website https://queeneb.hpedsb.on.ca/).

QEB Open House & Family BBQ - Thursday, September 28. 2023 from 3:30-5:30PM!  We are excited to be hosting an open house for our families to drop-in and see where their children spend their day learning!  We will also be offering a community supported BBQ for all of our families that attend.

Every Child Matters - Orange Shirt Ordering Information: September 29, 2023 is formally recognized as National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, the day to honour and remember the children who attended Residential Schools and those whose lives have been affected by family members who attended. For the last number of years, HPEDSB has joined others in recognizing this day by wearing orange shirts.  Once again this year we will be taking orders for the sale of these shirts.  Shirts are $15 each. You can purchase shirts through School Cash Online or complete and return the form that will be sent home on Monday. Orders must be in to the school by Tuesday, September 12, 2023 (short turn around so shirts can be ordered).

Our Grade 4-8 students are coming home today with Permission to Try-Out for Athletic Team and Participation Consent forms - please fill in and send back to school ASAP as this form must be completed prior to the students’ first try-out for any sport.

We are looking forward to starting off our first full week of school with all of our students (Kindergarten - Grade 8) in the building! Have a wonderful weekend!
